Confederate Flag Dress Keeps TN Teen From Prom

Gibson County High School senior Texanna Edwards , 18, said she wasn't allowed inside the prom after school officials told her the dress was "offensive and inappropriate."

"We asked why they thought that, but they kept saying the same thing over and over," she said Monday. "We kept asking people walking inside -- black and white -- and everyone said they loved it. Two black women even went off on the principal. They were upset with the principal. No one was upset with me."

ACTION ALERT: Alabama Confederate Park under attack in the Senate! SB-519

ACTION ALERT: Alabama Confederate Park under attack in the Senate! SB-519

Park info and photos HERE

The House bill on the Confederate Memorial Park is "dead in the water", so to speak, but evidently they are trying another avenue to use the CMP funds --SB519 is in the Senate Finance & Taxation General Fund Committee due to be read for a vote tomorrow (Wednesday) to come out of committee. The bill seeks to cut CMP's funding by 1/3rd and give it to the First White House of the Confederacy in Montgomery. We all certainly support the First White House but this is not how it is to be done! Leave ALL of our Southern Heritage alone and stop trying to destroy it! Get your dollars from less meaningful places!

Please make calls IMMEDIATELY (and email) to the Chairman and each committee member listed below and tell them vote NO out of Committee --kill the bill! Then call your own senator and urge him to tell the Chairman and members you do not want the bill to come out of committee!

Please forward info!

"I'm proud of our Southern heritage. So proud that it saddened me to see it reduced to two Confederate generals and the myth of the superiority of a proud, noble, slave-holding South, in which only a few held power." ~ Kristin Szakos

Our Confederate monuments & cemeteries are, Fragile Legacies!
http://fragile-legacies-of-dixie.blogspot.com/

Preserving the Past for the Future

As Southron, it is our mission to preserve the name, honour and legacy of our Confederate heroes. Confederate monuments & cemeteries are among the greatest of our Southern treasures, and their protection must be foremost among our priorities. This mission should be especially dear to us, as these monuments & cemeteries are the only standing tribute to our past.

Please help preserve Dixie's treasures for the enjoyment of Her future generations. Once they are impacted or destroyed by "those people" they can never be restored to their original state; there is no going back....PoP
