"If, in fact, parents want to use the rebel flag as a teaching tool, by all means they should do so. They should teach that the army that fought under it was seeking to preserve a system that enslaved other human beings. They should teach how men in white hoods carrying that flag tortured, abused and murdered blacks for decades without a hint of compassion or remorse."
