Mayor Wary Of Confederate Memorial

"I don't want to say glorify, but that's what they're doing is glorifying the Confederacy cause there are certain things in the Confederate reasoning that in my mind are not just distasteful, they're not right," Bhasker said.
Bhasker said he's asked the Socorro City Council to consider regulating the cemetery.

Confederate National Flag Stirs Emotions In Downtown Kinston

The flag is flying atop the CSS Neuse II, a replica of the ironclad battleship that was built in Kinston during the Civil War (sic.) The white flag has the stars and bars in the upper left corner. It's widely know as the "stainless banner."

Return the flags of the Confederacy

Virginia Museum of Fine Arts- Richmond, VA:
Return the flags of the Confederacy to the Confederate War Memorial Chapel

SIGN THIS PETITION
HERE

The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts forced the removal of the flags of the Confederacy from the Confederate War Memorial Chapel in Richmond Virginia. This not only is dishonoring the veterans who lived there and donated the land to the Commonwealth of Virginia but, it is in direct violation of the law regarding War Between the States monuments. Below is the statute:
“it shall be unlawful for the authorities of the locality, or any other person or persons, to disturb or interfere with any monuments or memorials so erected, or to prevent its citizens from taking proper measures and exercising proper means for the protection, preservation and care of same. For purposes of this section, "disturb or interfere with" includes removal of, damaging or defacing monuments or memorials, or, in the case of the War Between the States, the placement of Union markings or monuments on previously designated Confederate memorials or the placement of Confederate markings or monuments on previously designated Union memorials.” (§ 15.2-1812)

The VMFA in direct violation of the law, not only removed the flag of the Confederacy but, placed a Union flag on a pole right in front of the chapel. This shows their distain for the law of Virginia and appears as if they are thumbing their noses at the law.
